Two-time World Twenty 20 winning captain; one of the fearsome hitters of a cricket ball; an inspiring leader; a handy bowler; a character. Darren Sammy has all the ingredients of being a genuine T20 Superstar. And, yet Sammy failed to find an IPL franchise for himself despite giving us so many moments to savor

Sammy last played for the Indian Premier League back 2015 when he turned out for the Royal Challengers Bangalore but has since been one of the stalwarts in the Pakistan Super League. The all-rounder was one of the few players to tour Pakistan to play the PSL final; one he went on to win with the Peshawar Zalmi.

Overall in 304 T20s, Sammy has accumulated 3832 runs at a strike-rate of 139.95 besides taking 158 wickets at 28.41, and even though it’s unlikely, those stats do warrant a potential comeback in IPL colors.
