The explosive batting unit of Mumbai Indians has been a nightmare for the opposition bowling attacks in IPL 2020. Each one of their top six has been a game-changer in their own right. If Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma have awed the audience with their class, then Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have stunned them with their strokeplay. And to round off, they have the power game of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard.

In all, the team’s batting prowess has been just phenomenal. And such has been its might that they have been unable to fit in a genuine match-winner like Chris Lynn in the playing XI. Even an emerging talent like Anmolpreet Singh has not been tried out. And it is because the team has preferred the experience of Saurabh Tiwary in case of any immediate replacements in the playing XI. That should change in the upcoming seasons.

He has done well in his limited opportunities. But with all due respect to Saurabh, his role in this Mumbai team is just to fill in when anyone gets injured. Instead of that, the franchise should look in for a fresh face who can become a regular member of the side in the coming times. Also, Tiwary is not the quickest on the field, which makes him a liability at times. Thus MI should part ways with him, as he might not be the best bet going forward.
