Mohit Sharma first came to international recognition a few years ago, when he bowled the pressure overs of the match meticulously with his variations and change of pace, in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings. He would be the Kings’ go-to bowler, whenever they needed wickets, or dry down the runs. Mohit’s ability to bowl that back-of-the-hand slower ball with such control earned him praises from some big names worldwide.

Owing to the skills he showed in the IPL, the 30-year-old was picked in the Indian Team, and played quite a few matches as well. His performances for India weren’t as good as they were in the IPL. This led to his exclusion from the team. Mohit played 26 ODIs and 8 T20Is for India and bowled at averages of 32.9 and 30.83 in the two formats respectively, which isn’t all that impressive for a bowler considering his average of 26.6 in the IPL.

However, his best days in the blue jersey were during the 2015 World Cup when he was part of the pace battery which did exceedingly well in the tournament.
