Teams often call youngsters and local talent for IPL trails. That usually happens before the IPL auctions. It is something that a lot of teams follow and based on the trials decide to pick certain players or reject them.

A young pacer from Mumbai, Tushar Deshpande got such an opportunity last year. He was called by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for trials ahead of the 2019 auctions. However, the Mumbai fast bowler rejected the offer. He instead turned out to play for his club team Parsee Gymkhana against CCI in a Purshottam Shield round match.

The promising pacer feels that if he can give his 100% everywhere, there is no use of going for trials. “I’ve never gone for trials with an IPL team. Earlier too, the Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils and the Rajasthan Royals called me for trials. I believe that if I’m giving my 100% in the matches that I’m playing in, why should I give trials? There’s nothing that I’ll gain by giving these trials. If I bowl well in the matches that I’m playing in, then someone will obviously pick me,” Deshpande explained in his interview with Cricbuzz.
