There is no doubt that Aaron Finch is one of the most destructive openers in T20 cricket. Moreover, he has been one of the most sought after players in the shortest format. He has played for as many as seven IPL teams since his debut in the 2010 season.

However, after a disappointing season in 2018, the Australia white-ball captain decided to pull out of the IPL auctions along with his Aussie teammate Glenn Maxwell. He was bought for a sum of INR 6.2 crore by Kings XI Punjab and hence, he was left out.

Having played 75 IPL games and scoring 1737 runs at an average of 25.93, the Victorian opener would’ve been one of the limelights in the 2019 auctions. But Finch wanted to concentrate on leading Australia in the shorter formats and prepare for the World Cup. And thus, he decided to pull out of the lucrative T20 league for the 2019 season.
