It was surprising to see Royal Challengers Bangalore end their association with the South African quick Dale Steyn before the IPL 2020 Auction. Steyn had joined the RCB squad as a replacement for Nathan Coulter Nile and in the two matches he played, the right-arm fast bowler took 4 wickets.

Mike Hesson stated that his poor fitness levels led to his exit from the team but, the 36-year-old has worked a lot on his fitness. He has been playing well for Cape Town Blitz in the ongoing Mzansi Super League.

Since he can still trouble the opposition batsmen with his pace and swing, Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals could try to sign him in the auction. For the record, Steyn has played 92 IPL matches in his career, scalping 96 wickets at an economy rate of 6.76.
