The T20 World Cup in 2016 had some weird statistic records. It was pretty obvious that no one would have thought that Tamim Iqbal would emerge as the leading run-scorer of the tournament. He was the man of the moment for Bangladesh during that tournament.

Although Bangladesh failed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament, they left a mark on the tournament. During a league stage of the tournament, they almost defeated India in Bengaluru. This tournament also kicked off a decent phase for Bangladesh as a T20 team.

Tamim managed to score a century in the tournament as well. His consistency in the World Cup is one of the most iconic parts of the tournament. This is mainly because, during that time, people did underestimate Bangladesh as a team.
