Harbhajan Singh, the veteran Indian spinner tied the knot with Bollywood actress Geeta Basra back in 2015. It was a special occasion for him and his family with smiles on everyone’s face. He would have expected to have a great marriage ceremony but that never happened.

It is known that Harbhajan Singh belongs from Sikh religion. And in that religion, the usage of tobacco is strictly prohibited. However, as per reports, a total of 113 types of different tobaccos were being served in the marriage. So, Sikh organization lodged a complaint against the off-spinner.

During the marriage, it was also reported that Harbhajan Singh’s bouncers were involved in a physical spat with a photojournalist. They also broke the camera of the media person, who had reached Jalandhar just to cover the wedding. Later on, the veteran bowler had to come out and seek an apology from the journalists.

S Sreesanth and controversy go hand in hand since he arrived in the international scene. The fans will be surprised to know that his wedding ceremony also hogged the light due to a controversy that dragged the name of current Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sreesanth’s close friend Junaid Arfi had said that Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2013 will light up the wedding with his presence. “It will be a typical Indian traditional wedding. The wedding will be followed by a reception at a hotel. Chief Minster of Gujarat Narendra Modi has confirmed his presence at the wedding,” he was quoted as saying by India TV.

However, the sources close to the Gujarat CM confirmed that Modi didn’t even know about the cricketer’s wedding. This gave air to an unwanted controversy that no one had expected. Surprisingly, Sreesanth tied the knot with Bhuvneshwari Kumari in the same year in which he was arrested for his involvement in IPL spot-fixing scandal.

Ravindra Jadeja, the prolific Indian all-rounder tied the knot with Riva Solanki on 17th April in 2016. There were reports that star players like MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina were expected to attend the marriage but none of them could manage to come due to their commitments.

Still, Jadeja’s wedding was no less than a grand affair or can be compared to a fairy tale wedding event. But, it didn’t end on a good note as an air firing took place as a mark of celebration during the wedding. Even a clip went viral from the event in which a person can be spotted firing in the air with a licensed gun.

As per the reports in Times of  India, soon the police arrived at Jadeja’s wedding for enquiry. According to the law, it is wrong to use a licensed gun in such a fashion.

Soumya Sarkar, the Bangladesh cricketer’s wedding turned out to be a controversial event as lots of irrelevant things happened. Firstly, two people were arrested for stealing smartphones during the wedding. Also, there were reports that a fight took place during the marriage between people.

However, the biggest of all was the possession of Deerskin during the event. As per the laws, no individual has the right to possess the animals skin without any official license. Moreover, there were reports that Soumya Sarkar and his father could face up to three years jail for the same.

But, later on, his father cleared the fact that they were just following the family tradition and nothing more.  The Bangladesh all-rounder tied the knot with Priyonti Debnath Puja earlier this year on February 26.

Virat Kohli’s name doesn’t need any introduction. He got married to the Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma back in 2017 on 11th December in Milan, Italy. The wedding took place in the presence of their family members and close friends quite secretly and away from any media spotlight.

The fans were quite happy after they got the news about India’s most eligible bachelor getting married to Bollywood diva. Soon after the marriage, BJP MLA gave a controversial angle to Kohli’s way of getting married in a foreign country.

He also added that Kohli cannot be an inspiration for upcoming young cricketers to be faithful to their motherland. The only point of BJP MLA was that if Kohli earned name and fame in India then why he travelled to Italy for the marriage.
