Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has predicted that prominent batter Virat Kohli will end his century drought in the upcoming away series against England. Sehwag said that Kohli looked in good touch during the practice game against Leicestershire as he scored 33 runs in the first innings and a fifty in the second innings.

To note, the 33-year-old has been going through a lean patch in the international arena. The right-handed batter has failed to score a hundred in more than 100 matches in all formats and levels as his last century came in November 2019. However, Sehwag has emphasized the fact that Kohli will find his form in the rescheduled Test match against England starting from July 1.

Don’t remember when was the last time Virat Kohli scored a century: Virender Sehwag

“Do you remember when was the last time, Kohli scored a century? Even I don’t remember. He would definitely want that he scores big in this Edgbaston Test which is the series decider,” Sehwag told on Sony’s pre-match show ‘Extra Innings.’

“I think his bad days are over. Ab lagta hai behtar din ayenge (I think now his better days will come) and they have already started. He has scored fifty in both the innings.” (Kohli scored a fifty in the 2nd innings and he scored 33 runs in the first innings,” Sehwag added.

To note, the series decider between India and England will start on July 1 with the visitors leading by 2-1. At present, the home side England are facing the visitors New Zealand in the third and final match of the series and are expected to win the match and complete a series white-wash against the Kiwi side.

After the fifth and final Test match between India and the Three Lions, a three-match T20I series will take place from July 7 (Thursday) and then the same number of ODI matches will be played between the two nations which will commence on July 12 (Tuesday).
