Adil Rashid was the pick of the England bowlers in their three-match series against Australia. Not only did he put a lid on the run-scoring, but also picked up six wickets. In the third and final T20I at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, the tweaker again showed his class. The veteran picked up three crucial wickets of Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, and Steve Smith.

Moreover, he gave away on 21 runs in his four overs, bringing forth all his experience at the highest level. The delivery he bowled to get rid of Finch was an absolute peach. It pitched on and around the off stump and spun back sharply. The batsman didn’t have any clue about the googly and ended up playing all around it. He was beaten all ends up by Rashid’s trajectory.

Finch had already got his eye in by then, scoring 39 runs at a strike-rate around 150 with five boundaries. He was absolutely stunned, seeing the stumps go for a toss. For England, it was a much-needed wicket as the Aussies were cruising along at 87 after their 10 overs while chasing 146.

Finch had a deccent series with the bat in hand and tried his best for the Kangaroos. In three encounters, he managed 125 runs at an average of 41.66. In all the games, he helped his side get off to flying starts. He will now have a task at hand in the three-match ODI series after Australia’s loss in the shorter format. Thereafter, he will head to India for the 2020 IPL where he will play for the RCB.

As far as the Aussies are concerned, despite winning the last game, they lost the series 1-2. However, with the victory, they gained back their no.1 spot in the ICC rankings for T20I teams. They toppled Eoin Morgan and Co, who were dethroned after only a solitary match.

In their run-chase, Australia found themselves in a spot of bother at 100 for five after 13 overs. But Mitchell Marsh showed nerves of steel, scored 39 off 36, and took his team over the finishing line. Ashton Agar lent him the apt support, scoring 16 off 13 in the 46-run partnership.
