Although they didn’t post a huge target on the board in the first inning are in a commanding position in the match. On a track such as this, it is no easy to chase a total in excess of 200. Further, the Indian bowlers are in great form and will be looking to earn this match for the team.

While the batsmen have found life difficult on this tour the bowlers like they’ve already done will like to put their hand up and do the job for the team. In assisting conditions, the game is beautifully set up for India to win. Earlier in the first innings, they only let South Africa take a lead of seven runs that produced a chance for Virat Kohli & Co.

Chance to beat the Proteas

Jasprit Bumrah was highly impressive in the first innings. He caught the attention of one and all with his five-wicket haul. He bowled in some beautiful channels and was all over the Proteas batters. Bumrah bowled an absolute ripper to get rid of the South African skipper, Faf du Plessis. He also bagged the crucial wicket of Hashim Amla who was looking dangerous.

Talks about the pitch at the Wanderers

The pitch at the Wanderers has been the talking point of this match. Many termed this very dangerous for the batsmen. Former South African captain Shaun Pollock also expressed his views on this pitch.

“If you’ve got deliveries behaving like this on day two of a Test match it can’t be judged a good surface,” expressed Pollock. “You go to India and get a surface like Nagpur where it turned too much. This can’t be judged a good surface because as a batsman you are never in,” he added.

Sunil Gavaskar, on the other hand, defended the pitch. He said, “You can get a very flat surface which is totally in favor of batsmen. This is a pitch which is totally in favor of bowlers.”
