At the moment, England may have a few holes to plug, but the biggest problem they have would be chinaman Kuldeep Yadav. On a sublime batting track in Trent Bridge, the youngster claimed six England scalps and restricted the best ODI side in the world to 268, a target which was quite easily chased down by the Indians. Even in the T20I series, Kuldeep had caused several problems for the English batsmen, something that prompted them to look into a bowling machine to decipher his bowling.

However, speaking about the same, Kuldeep added that a bowling machine would certainly not help them. Especially, since the ball was turning and the Brits would not be able to comprehend where the ball was turning as well.

“I don’t believe in a bowling machine. If the ball is turning, and especially here in England, they are not able to comprehend it. In the bowling machine, you cannot see the hand or wrist or arm during delivery and the ball only turns. So, if you are not picking the ball (from the hand), then there is a huge problem.”

‘Analysing someone’s videos is the biggest mistake’

Kuldeep also quashed England’s claims of watching video after video. He believes that if one is going to watch videos and make attempts on predicting which ball would come next, it was going to be a huge mistake.

“If you’re analysing someone with videos, I believe that’s the biggest mistake. If you’re doing quality bowling, if you’re keeping it on a spot and if you’re bowling on a length and getting it to turn, then it is difficult for anyone. Irrespective of how much video you watch. Yes, if you watch a video, you get an idea what type of ball the bowler is bowling. But if you’re getting help from the wicket, then it is difficult.”

India will nowgear up for the second ODI against the Brits at Lord’s on Saturday evening.
