Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar is in the limelight ever since he has been shortlisted for the upcoming IPL 2021 auction. He has listed his base price at Rs 20 lakh and it will be interesting to see if any team is interested in him. Ahead of the auction though Arjun has raised his stakes with a blistering show with the bat hitting five sixes in a single over.

He is currently playing in a local cricket tournament organised by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for MIG Cricket Club. Featuring in the second round of Group A match against Islam Gymkhana, Arjun Tendulkar displayed his all-round skill playing a crucial role in the team’s thumping win.

Batting first, MIG Cricket Club were propelled by middle order-batsman Pragnesh Kandillewar who smacked a century while Kevin D’Almeida scored 96 runs. Arjun Tendulkar also piled on the agony on the opposition smashing 77 off just 31 balls belting five fours and as many as eight sixes.

Five of those maximums came in a single over itself off off-spinner Hashir Dafedar. On the back of his blitzkrieg, MIG CC managed to post a mammoth total of 385/7 in 45 overs

Arjun Tendulkar then also displayed his prowess with the ball returning with the figures of 3/41 in his spell. Islam Gymkhana were bundled out for just 191 runs losing the match by a huge margin of 194 runs. Apart from Arjun, Ankush Jaiswal (3/31) and Shreyas Gurav (3/34) as MIG CC won the game very easily.

Arjun made his debut for the senior team debut for Mumbai last month during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but couldn’t make an impact. He played in two matches picking only two wickets and scored only three runs with the bat. He will be delighted having found his lost touch and will be keen on continuing in the same vein for the rest of the tournament.

Meanwhile, many reckon that Mumbai Indians will bid on Arjun Tendulkar as the all-rounder has been the net bowler for them for past few years. Even Sachin played for the same team and it shouldn’t be a surprise, if MI manage to secure his services.
