Veteran umpire Aleem Dar and Australian cricketer Ashton Agar were recently seen locking horns for the high stakes. Well, it might be very amusing read this at the first place. Before things get complicated, here is the reason why the two gentlemen were seen tipping off against one another. Aleem Dar and Ashton Agar chose to spend their time wisely by having a game of table tennis in Dhaka.

Team Australia is in Bangladesh for their upcoming two-match Test series. The first Test commences on August 27. This will be the first time when the two sides will meet each other in a Test match on the Bangladeshi soil. A big trouble hovers over the big game though.

The capital city of Bangladesh has been witnessing heavy rains in the recent days. It was due to the same reason why the training sessions of both the sides were washed out recently. The players were forced to stay indoors because of this.

It was during this time when Aleem Dar and Ashton Agar played a game of table tennis. Australian batsman Usman Khawaja recorded the game and was quick to share a few updates about the same on the social media. In a video uploaded by Usman Khawaja, Dar is seen playing some brilliant front hand shots against the left arm Australian spinner.

The Old History

Interestingly, both Dar and Agar share a history between themselves. They were involved in an unwanted fight during the 2013 Ashes. During one of the fixtures, Dar had adjudged English cricketer Stuart Broad not out off the bowling of Agar.

The replays suggested that Broad had edged the ball to the first slip. After a lot of thinking, Dar had finally called it in the favor of the batsman. Albeit Agar did not show his frustration and disappointment in an aggressive way, his feelings were evident enough. It was the first Test for Agar back then.
