India clinched the Asia Cup title for the record sixth time (seven times including T20I) by winning a thriller against Bangladesh in the final. The tournament witnessed some thrilling encounters that went down till the last ball. Afghanistan tied with India after losing a couple of last over thrillers to bow out of the tournament. Hong Kong nearly got better of India thanks to a big opening stand in a chase. The Indian opening pair stood tall in almost every game and backed the performance of their bowlers.
All the stats and numbers that were recorded during the Asia Cup 2018:
6 – Number of catches Shikhar Dhawan has taken in this Asia Cup including the four against Bangladesh in the Super Four game. These are the most number of catches for any player in a single edition of the Asia Cup. As many as seven players claimed five catches in an Asia Cup tournament previously.

Kumar Sangakkara (in 2004 and 2010) and Dhoni himself in 2008 and 2012 affected 11 dismissals apiece. Dhoni’s six stumpings in this series are also the most surpassing Sangakkara’s four in the 2008 edition.
