Rahul had a great Indian Premier League (IPL) season with Kings XI Punjab in 2018, scoring runs at will. Since then, the Karnataka-born cricketer has become a regular feature in India’s limited overs side. In 2018, Rahul had a decent outing so far in Indian colours in the shortest format of the game with a century and a couple of the fifties to his name. However, Rahul didn’t have a great outing in the recently concluded series against Windies.

He managed to score just 59 runs in three matches played. Also, his flaw against the incoming deliveries was discovered which led to the decline in his form recently. The opening slots already being taken up, Rahul has to perform exceptionally well in order to cement his place at number four. There is tough competition for the slot, so the right-hander has to score big runs in the three-match T20I series against the Kangaroos to cement his place.
