The defending champions Australia will face off against the Sri Lankan women in match number 11 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 on February 16, 2023 at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.
Australia have always had an upper hand over the Sri Lankans in the T20I format. Australia have been crowned world champions on five occasions out of seven T20 World Cups and would be the favourites in this edition as well.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had a disappointing ICC T20 World Cup 2020 to remember as they lost 3 out of 4 matches and eventually got eliminated from the preliminary group stage. They have never defeated Australia in T20Is and would look to break the losing streak.
