21-year old Pakistani batsman Babar Azam has been one of those players for the Asian Giants who has stood tall each time the pressure has been on him. Of course, it is still early days in his young career, but the fact is that the composure that he has shown despite his grass-root of an age is something that has brought a touch of glee back to Pakistan cricket.

However, in spite of this, the team management including head coach Mickey Arthur is not satisfied with having struck Goldust with Azam at the moment. This dissatisfaction is something that could very well go against them, but the manner in which Azam has responded has been simply amazing. This issue has now crept into the fact that Pakistan would like to see their young starlet bowling in the near future.

This also sees him being the beneficiary of making the quick trip to Brisbane shortly before the start of the T20 international series to have a bowl and get his action well and truly analyzed. With players such as Mohammad Hafeez not being the best of the bowling options in recent times, Pakistan has struggled to find bowlers who would fit right into their part-time scheme as well.

Babar Azam scored 282 runs against Australia in five ODI matches with a century in the last match at Adelaide. The batsman failed to perform during the Test series down under, only scoring 68 runs.

Azam completed 1,000 ODI runs in his 21st match and joined the fastest 1,000 ODI club alongside greats such as Sir Vivian Richards from West Indies, England’s Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott and South Africa’s Quinton de Kock.
