The 4th edition of Bangladesh Premier League came to an end with Dhaka Dynamites lifting the trophy at the end of 46 matches played across two venues over a period of 32 days. The tournament had an unusual start due to rain but BCB decided to replay the washout games which helped them further in completing the tournament without a washout. There were quite a lot of stats and records broken throughout the tournament.

0 – Number of totals over 200 in this edition’s BPL. The highest total was 194/5 by Dhaka Dynamites vs Chittagong Vikings.

2 – Junaid Khan and Shaiful Islam are the only players to take 4-wicket haul twice in this BPL season.

3 – Number of ducks bagged by Thisara Perera, the most by any player in this edition.

3 – Number of five-wicket hauls recorded in 2016 BPL. Only 4 five-fers were recorded in first 3 seasons.

3 – Number of players who have scored 1000 or more runs in BPL history. They are Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan.

5 – Number of consecutive matches the BPL defending champions Comilla Victorians lost at the start. They are only the 3rd team to lose 5 or more consecutive matches at the start of a T20 tournament coming in as defending champions.

5/21 – Afif Hossain’s figures of 5/21 for Rajshahi Kings against Chittagong Vikings are the best bowling figures in this edition, the 3rd best in the BPL so far.

6 – Number of fifty plus scores Tamim Iqbal has scored in this BPL season, the most by a player. No other player has more than 4 fifty plus scores this year.

6 – Number of different T20 tournament final wins Dwayne Bravo has taken part, joint most for any player. Kieron Pollard also has 6 different T20 titles as a player. Bravo has been part of: Caribbean T20, IPL T20, World T20, Champions League T20, CPL T20 and now BPL T20 champion teams.

6 – Number of players who have made the double of 200 runs and 20 wickets in a T20 tournament. Mohammad Nabi missed out on becoming the 7th as he picked up 19 wickets only and scored 237 runs in this edition of BPL.

18 – Balls taken by Sekkuge Prasanna for his fifty vs Khulna Titans, the 2nd fastest fifty in overall BPL history. The fastest is by Ahmed Shehzad in 16 balls in 2012.

18 – Number of dismissals by Kumar Sangakkara as keeper most by any player in this season. These are also the most by any keeper in any BPL season. In fact, the 18 dismissals in this tournament are joint 2nd most by any keeper in a T20 tournament edition standing only behind the record of 19 dismissals made by Sangakkara himself in 2011 IPL.

20 – Number of sixes hit by Mehedi Maruf, the most by any player in this BPL season.

21 – Wickets taken by Dwayne Bravo in this edition, the most by any bowler. These are also the joint 2nd most wickets taken by a bowler in a BPL season.

44 – Khulna Titans’ total of 44 against Rangpur Riders in this season is the lowest total in BPL history. Overall, it is the joint 3rd lowest total in T20 cricket.

53 – Runs conceded by Shaiful Islam against Rajshahi Kings in his 4 overs, the most by any player in a game in this season. These are also the 2nd most runs conceded by a player in a BPL game.

122 – Sabbir Rahman’s 122 for Rajshahi Kings against Barisal Bulls at Dhaka is the only century in this BPL edition. This is also the highest individual score in BPL history overhauling Chris Gayle’s 116 in 2012.

150 – David Malan and Shahriar Nafees’ partnership stand of 150 for the 2nd wicket for Barisal Bulls against Chittagong Vikings is the highest stand in this season of BPL. It is the 3rd highest stand in the BPL so far.

187.5 – Batting strike rate of Seekkuge Prasanna in this edition of BPL, the highest for any player. (Min: 100 runs)

476 – Runs scored by Tamim Iqbal in this BPL season, the most by any player. These are also the 2nd most in a BPL season. Ahmed Shehzad scored 486 runs in 2012 season.
