Did the first T20 International happen? This would be the reaction of most Bangladesh fans as the home side was brutally blown away by the Windies who prefer to play the shortest format more. It got over ever so quickly with Shai Hope continuing his purple patch with the bat while Keemo Paul was a surprise package who tonked the ball like anything to gun down the total.

The visitors endured a near perfect game in Sylhet and they will be concluding their tough tour in Dhaka with the last two T20Is set to take place at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. They haven’t been consistent in this format and broke the five-match losing streak in the previous game. This is the best chance for them to seal the series after such an authoritative performance.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, put up an abject batting performance in the series opener. Only three of their batsmen reached double figures and all of them got out by playing atrocious strokes. Shakib Al Hasan was disappointed in the post-match presentation when asked about the same. He was the lone warrior for them scoring 61 runs but nobody lent any support and his frustration was understandable.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Shere Bangla National Stadium is known to produce turning pitches. Having said that, the teams bowling first have won 20 out of 37 matches at this venue and that might prompt the team winning the toss to field first. With an evening start to the game, the dew might also come into play. The conditions will be extremely good with no chances of rain with the temperatures dropping into the late 10s.

Team Combinations

Bangladesh

Bangladesh might guard against a plethora of changes after a solitary loss. But Mehidy Hasan might get dropped after the way he was taken apart in the first match. The left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam is likely to come in his place while the rest of the line-up will remain the same. The batsmen should take up more responsibility instead of playing too many shots early in their innings.

Probable XI: Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan (C), Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Ariful Haque, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nazmul Islam, Abu Hider Rony, Mustafizur Rahman.

Windies

There is no change for the Windies to change the winning combination. It was a splendid effort from them and the skipper Carlos Brathwaite, who will be delighted after getting such a huge bid in the IPL auction, will hope that they just continue the good work. Shai Hope continues to be the threat for the hosts while the likes of Evin Lewis, Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer are also some of the best players in the format.

Probable XI: Evin Lewis, Shai Hope (wk), Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Darren Bravo, Rovman Powell, Carlos Brathwaite (C), Fabian Allen, Sheldon Cottrell, Fabian Allen, Keemo Paul, Oshane Thomas.

Probable Top Performers

Tamim Iqbal – Bangladesh | Nicholas Pooran – Windies
