Perth Scorchers registered their 2nd straight win by virtue of a big 34-run victory over the Brisbane Heat at the Perth Stadium. Mitchell Marsh played a captain innings as she struck an unbeaten 93 from only 41 balls by smashing 8 sixes and three fours as the Scorchers finished on 213/3.
Cameron Bancroft scored an unbeaten 29-ball 41 and shared a 4th wicket stand of 124* with Marsh in only 57 balls. Tom Banton scored a 32-ball 53 with nine boundaries but no other Brisbane batsman went in that way. As a result, the Brisbane team were limited to just 179/8 in the 20 overs.

213/3 – The total of 213/3 by Perth Scorchers is the 3rd highest total by any team in the Big Bash League. The top two highest BBL totals came during the 2016-17 season match hosted by the Docklands where the Hurricanes made 223/8 during their successful chase of Melbourne Renegades’ total of 222/4.
Scorchers’ total of 203/7 against Adelaide Strikers in the 2013-14 season is their only other 200+ total in the Big Bash League.
392 – The aggregate of 392 in this match is the 10th highest in a Big Bash League game and the highest in a BBL match hosted by any venue in Perth. The 2013-14 match between Scorchers and Strikers at the WACA witnessed a total of 401 runs.

93* – Mitchell Marsh’s unbeaten 93 is now the highest individual score for the Scorchers in the BBL against Brisbane. The previous highest was 81 by Michael Klinger in the 2016-17 season.
226.82 – Marsh’s strike rate of 226.82 during his 41-ball 93 is the highest in a BBL inning of 40+ balls. Craig Simmons had an SR of 248.78 during his 41-ball 102 also for the Scorchers against the Adelaide Strikers in 2013-14.
Mitchell Marsh deals in sixes:
8 – Mitchell Marsh became only the 2nd player to hit 8 or more sixes in a Big Bash League inning for the Scorchers. Craig Simmons struck a total of 11 sixes during his century against Sydney Sixers and 8 maximums during the hundred over the Adelaide Strikers; both during the 2013-14 season.
55 – Mitch Marsh became the 13th player to hit as many as 50 sixes in the Big Bash League with the 3rd of the 8 sixes he struck against Brisbane. Marsh is also the first player to hit 50 BBL sixes for the Perth Scorches.
Prior to the game, Marsh was behind Shaun Marsh (48) and Ashton Turner (48) in the list of players with most sixes in the BBL for the Scorchers.
A tough day with the ball for Laughlin and Pattinson:
60 – The 60 runs conceded by Ben Laughlin are the joint-most by any player in a BBL match. Daniel Worrall also conceded 60 runs in his 4 overs while playing for the Melbourne Stars in the 2014-15 season against Hobart Hurricanes.
2 – Ben Laughlin (60) and James Pattinson (52) became only the 2nd pair to concede 50+ runs in a Big Bash League inning. Another Brisbane pair of Luke Feldman and Mark Steketee conceded 53 and 50 runs respectively during the 2015-16 season match against Hobart Hurricanes.
A big partnership for the Scorchers:
124* – The unbeaten 124-run stand between Mitchell Marsh and Cameron Bancroft is the 2nd highest partnership in the Big Bash League for the 4th wicket. The highest BBL partnership for the 4th wicket is 145 which was recorded by the Hurricanes’ pair of Tim Paine and George Bailey against Melbourne Stars in 2016-17.
