Fifties from Sam Harper (66*) and Rilee Rossouw (59) helped Renegades to finish with 157/4 after the openers got out for low scores. The Hurricanes lost D’Arcy Short in the very first over of the chase but Ben McDermott stood tall to guide the home team to their 3rd win of the series. The wicketkeeper-batsman smashed an unbeaten 55-ball 89 with as many as 12 boundaries.

4Ben McDermott became the first player to record as many as four 50+ scores in the Big Bash League against the Melbourne Renegades. McDermott has scored a century and three fifties against the Renegades; all across 7 innings only. He has scored 415 runs at an average of 138.33 against Renegades; the 3rd most BBL runs for any player against them.


Youngest franchise T20 cricketer:

15y 351d – Noor Ahmad, at the age of 15 years and 351 days, became the youngest male to feature in a Big Bash League match. Mujeeb ur Rahman was the previous youngest who was 17 years and 266 days old when he made his BBL debut in the 2018-19 season for Brisbane Heat.

15y 351d – Noor Ahmad is also the youngest male to feature in a franchise-based T20 league match. Prayas Ray Barman was the previous youngest who made his IPL debut at the age of 16 years and 157 days in the 2019 edition for Royal Challengers Bangalore.


A good game for the No.3 batters:

155 – A total of 155 runs have been scored by the players batting at No.3 during the HUR vs REN match – Sam Harper (66*) and Ben McDermott (89*). These are the most number of runs by No.3 batters in a BBL match surpassing the 148 runs scored during the 2016-17 season match also played between Renegades and Hurricanes at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.

5033 – Rilee Rossouw completed 5000 runs in the Twenty20 format when he went past his individual score of 26 during the HUR vs REN game. Rossouw became the 9th player from South Africa to complete 5000 T20 runs and the 6th fastest among those by taking 196 innings to reach the milestone.
