BBL 2021-22: Crowd cheers loudly for a fan taking a juggling catch in the stands

Generally, it is the players who get the loudest cheers from the spectators. However, in the Big Bash League (BBL) match that was played between the Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes, a spectator was cheered on by the crowd.

Off the second ball of the 20th over of the Perth Scorchers innings, Jordan Thompson bowled a low full toss to Ashton Agar, and the left-hander smoked it over mid-wicket. The ball sailed into the crowd, and a fan took a good catch in the stands.

Initially, the fan did not take the catch cleanly, and the ball popped out. However, the fan was alert, kept his eyes on the ball, and made sure that he got hold of the ball on the second attempt. And, the crowd cheered loudly for the fan.

Perth Scorchers decimate Hobart Hurricanes by 42 runs

The Perth Scorchers thrashed the Hobart Hurricanes by 42 runs in the encounter between the two outfits. Wielding the willow first, the Scorchers posted a competitive total of 167/7 on the board. Kurtis Patterson was the catalyst of the Scorchers with the bat in hand and plundered a belligerent 78 off 48 deliveries.

Apart from Patterson, Agar also contributed a blistering 11-ball 30* as well. In reply, the Hobart Hurricanes put up a poor performance with the bat. None of the Hurricanes’ willow wielders could even cross the 30-run mark, and the Hurricanes could only muster a total of 125/9 on the board.

The Perth Scorchers have won all 4 matches that they have played and are occupying the top spot in the points table, while the Hobart Hurricanes are languishing at the 6th place, winning just 1 out of their 4 rubbers.
