Former Australian speedster Glenn McGrath is a very popular face in India. He is a part of the coaching and mentoring staff at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. In the last few years, he has had quite a few visits to the city. Needless to cite why he has started calling the city of Chennai as his second home. In a recent conversation with the NDTV, Glenn McGrath remarked that he loves coming back to the city.

He conceded that it is amazing to see how quickly time has been flying. “Yeah, It’s been five years now and it’s amazing how quickly time goes. This is my third trip this year back to Chennai and it’s been my second home I have been telling people,” quoted Glenn McGrath.

Impressed with the Indian young brigade

At the academy, which is seen as the breeding ground for the budding young pacers, McGrath is very impressed with the way Indian youngsters are shaping up. He expressed his happiness over the inclusion of Aniket Chaudhary, Basil Thampi, and Ankit Rajput in the India A team.

“Very impressed with the young guys here at the MRF Pace Foundation. They have been bowling well and they have been improving every time I see them. They are keen to listen, keen to improve. It’s good to see that three of the bowlers Ankit Rajput, Anikeet Chaudhary and Basil Thampy heading over to South Africa to play for India ‘A’ in the Tests and the one-dayers. So very happy and very proud of the boys,” the former Australian pacer noted.

On the Australian pay dispute

The recent and ongoing pay scuffle between the Australian players and the Cricket Australia has seen the players being unemployed at the moment. This, in essence, has brought a dark cloud over the limited overs series between India and Australia scheduled to be played in October. Speaking about the same, Glenn McGrath conceded that he hopes that things will get back on the right track again.
