The leading Indian cricket academy on Saturday launched its 10th Academy of Cricket Academy of Pathans(CAP) along with ace Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan at a press conference held in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Academy will provide state-of-the-art coaching techniques to budding cricketers in Bengaluru. Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) will provide first class coaching to young children of India.
This will be done by involving Australian coaches Mr. Greg Chappell, former coach of the Indian Cricket team and Mr. Cameron Tradell, legendary coach from Australia as mentors for the coaching program. CAP is planning to invest INR 2 crore along with partners for further expansion across India in various cities – Bharuch (Gujarat), Siliguri (West Bengal), Baraut (Uttar Pradesh).
With right techniques and guidance from expert coaches, Pathan brothers, Irfan and Yusuf, launched these academies 2 years back to return their love for the game, “We are thrilled to launch our academy and nurture a young pool of talented children with best training and coaching of International standards”, they added. Irfan Pathan also batted and bowled to the students and interacted with parents.
Fostering talent in India is the main motive
This academy not only provides coaching to kids to play cricket but also to those who aspire to become coaches to understand technicalities of the game and in return execute their learned skills on kids. “Team CAP is continuously trying to make its presence felt in every part of India so that young talent doesn’t go in vain and get the best platform to show their skills. Coaches are well trained to spot strength of a child and formulate a plan to improve child’s game” Irfan Pathan, Director, CAP said. Cricket Academy of Pathans has tied up with UK based Cricket technology partner- PitchVision to track students’ performance in real time via cutting-edge technology programs.
This technology closes the loop between Pathan brothers, coaches and the students. Cricket Academy of Pathans plans to open 20 more new academies in different cities of India by mid next year. Currently, CAP has a presence in nine cities Raipur, Port Blair, Noida, Lunawada, Surat, Sonipat, Rajkot, and Delhi. CAP is launching soon in Patna, Pune, Kota, Indore, and Hyderabad.
“The CAP program has set focuses each week with varied outcomes depending on the ability level of the participants. CAP programs are a holistic approach to developing cricketers. The required mental approach, game knowledge, and experience are just as important as the physical skills. The CAP program creates intrinsically motivated players who thrive on competition and who understand there are consequences to actions,” Mr. Harmeet Vasdev, Managing Director, CAP added.
