After a disappointing campaign at the T20 World Cup 2022, India will gear up for a white-ball tour against New Zealand on the latter’s turf. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli have been rested for both the limited-overs assignments. In absence of the senior players, Hardik Pandya will be leading the troops in the shortest format while Shikhar Dhawan has been handed over the captaincy duties for the ODIs.

India have selected a 16-member squad for each of the white-ball formats. Each player in the squad has shown their prowess on the cricket field and has the skills to thrive in the New Zealand conditions. However, it is not certain that the team management will be able to give opportunities to each player present in the team and a few of the players might not get even a single game.

Here are the players who might not get a chance in the New Zealand tour:

3. Kuldeep Sen

Kuldeep Sen is one of the rare breeds of fast bowlers in the Indian circuit who has the ability to clock over 145 kmph consistently. The 26-year-old displayed his bowling might in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League rattling batters with his fiery pace. He featured in seven games for Rajasthan Royals and bagged eight wickets at an economy of 9.41.

Kuldeep was sensational in the recently culminated Irani Cup. Representing Rest of India, the speedster wreaked havoc with the ball and bagged eight wickets in the game. The speedster has been selected for the upcoming ODI series against the Blackcaps because of his impressive showings. However, the Rewa-born might not make his international debut in New Zealand.

India’s squad for the 50-over format consists of ace seamers like Shardul Thakur, Arshdeep Singh, and Deepak Chahar. The Trio has delivered the goods time and time again for the Men in Blue and thus, shall be higher in the pecking order. Further, if the think tank looks to add an express pacer, they might be inclined towards Umran Malik, who is relatively more experienced in playing on the big stage.
