India and South Africa reached the finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup, and both were deserving of the title. Rohit Sharma won the toss at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli scored a 59-ball 76 on a tough track to bat on. India recovered from 34/3 to post 176/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, South Africa lost two quick wickets, but Quinton de Kock, Tristan Stubbs, and Heinrich Klaasen played excellent knocks under pressure, bringing the equation down to 30 runs required off the last five overs.

However, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly in the back end of the innings to bring India back into the match. In the last over, Hardik had 16 runs to defend, with the dangerous David Miller on strike. The Indian all-rounder started with a full toss, and Miller slammed it towards long-off. Suryakumar Yadav took a magnificent catch, and the Men in Blue went on to win by seven runs.
