The renowned county of Yorkshire signed the right-handed batter Ruturaj Gaikwad recently. Gaikwad, who recently toured England with the India A squad, is available for five Championship matches starting in July, including the fixture against Surrey, in Scarborough. He is also expected to play in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

The 28-year-old has represented India in six ODIs and 23 T20Is and captained Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He averages 41.77 in first-class cricket with seven centuries and a List A average of 56.15 with 16 tons. Gaikwad has been out of action since suffering an elbow injury during the IPL 2025. However, he returned to fitness in the India A intra-squad clash ahead of the England Test series.
