Navdeep Saini caught a lot of eyeballs when he made his IPL debut in 2019 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He rattled batters with his express pace and took 11 scalps in 13 games at an economy of 8.27. The speedster even broke into the international arena courtesy of his impressive performance. However, his returns with the ball have dwindled post his debut season.

Rajasthan signed the Karnal-born at the 2022 IPL auction to add bite to their bowling attack. But he got just two opportunities to prove his worth. Though Saini took three wickets in those games, he leaked runs at an alarming rate of 12.00. He was dropped from the side due to his mediocre outings.

Kuldeep Sen was entrusted to partner Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna on the pace-bowling front and was given a longer rope. He took eight wickets in seven games and his rise meant the 29-year-old was not picked again. With Kuldeep fairing well, Saini’s chances of making the playing XI look bleak. Thus, RR could part ways with the Indian pacer in the trading window while other franchises might look to draft in the star bowler.
