Rassie van der Dussen was picked by Rajasthan Royals at the 2022 IPL Auction to bolster their batting lineup. However, the 33-year-old was not able to set the IPL stage on fire with his performances. In the three outings he got, Rassie could only manage 22 runs at a poor strike rate of 91.67.

Rajasthan’s middle order was stacked with match-winners such as Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, and Shimron Hetmyer. With the top-class trio in the mix, Rassie was not given he was not given consistent opportunities. Moreover, Rassie's failure to make the most of the chances meant he had to warm the bench for the majority of the tournament.

RR have their bases covered as far as the middle-order batting goes and they might look to release the Proteas batter in the upcoming trading window. The Pretoria-born has been a proven performer in the international circuit and many franchises might look to add him to their lineup.
