3. Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal has been a run-bank in the Indian Premier League. The Indian batter has played 113 games and aggregated 2327 runs at a strike rate of 134.28. Punjab Kings paid an eye-pooping sum of INR 14 crore to retain the 31-year-old for the 2022 season and appointed him the captain of the team.
However, Mayank was not able to lead his side to a playoff spot and PBKS ended the league stage at the sixth position with seven wins in 14 games. The Bangalore-born also failed to deliver on the batting front as he could manage mere 196 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 122.50.
With Mayank unable to justify his price tag, Punjab decided to move past him ahead of the next season. However, it should not be a surprise if the team management raises the paddle for him at the forthcoming auction. The elegant batter has been a consistent performer for PBKS over the years and Punjab could try to sign him at a reasonable price.
