Within a blink of an eye, the Indian Premier League 2023 has reached the sixth week. This time around, the bottom-placed teams went all guns blazing as the fans were able to witness some upsets this week. Apart from that, there were a few uneventful scenes witnessed during a close encounter between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The quality of the matches was top-notch as the fans got to see both high-scoring and low-scoring games this week. LSG managed to score the second-highest total in the history of the tournament. The fun fact about this week’s performance was the team scoring the highest total this week failed to chase a modest total against RCB and also crumbled against the Chennai Super Kings.

This is just an overall look at what happened during the fifth week of the IPL. The real stars this time were all-rounders who managed to make an impact to help their team cross the victory line. Let us have a look at the best all-round performances during the fifth week of the IPL 2023.

The Sunrises Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals are the two bottom-placed teams after the end of the fifth week of the IPL. Both teams have excellent bowling attacks, but the main issue has been their batting order. Even after having a packed batting unit, the top order has repeatedly failed for both sides.

However, this wasn’t the case for DC during their encounter against SRH. Sunrisers, thanks to a lone hand from Abhishek Sharma at the top, managed to put up 197/6 at the end of 20 overs. The star for the DC bowling unit was Mitchell Marsh, who has been able to cover up the bad outings of his teammates. Marsh picked up four wickets by giving away just 27 runs at the end of his four overs.

In return, the DC top order failed to fire except Phil Salt and Mitchell Marsh. The powerful all-rounder smashed 63 runs in 39 deliveries before being dismissed. But, the lack of support at the other end meant led to DC failing to chase down the target.
