4. Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid served Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2023, grabbing two wickets in two matches at an economy of 8.00. Despite his decent bowling numbers in the initial two games, SRH benched him for the entire tournament and now the franchise didn’t retain him for the IPL 2024 edition.
Rashid’s release can become a blessing in disguise for him as some franchises might not hesitate to spend a huge amount on him. The veteran exuded confidence with the ball in the 2023 World Cup. In England’s horrendous campaign, the leg-break bowler scalped 15 wickets in nine outings at an economy of 5.18 and ended up as the leading wicket-taker for his side.
After going through the retention list, it can be noted that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) don’t have frontline spinners and both teams might look to rope in the England stalwart for the upcoming season.
