He was also a regular feature in the T20Is for the Men in Blue till the T20 World Cup 2021 but has not played for India in the shortest format ever since.
The veteran pacer was signed by Gujarat Titans at the IPL Auction 2022 and Shami put on a sensational show with the ball. The ace pacer took 20 wickets in 16 games at an economy of 8.00 and played an instrumental role in Gujarat's successful IPL campaign.&nbsp;
Shami dented the opposition up front and gave Gujarat an ideal start with the ball. He was also the highest wicket-taker in the powerplay in the 2022 season with 11 wickets to his name. Despite the solid performance, the 32-year-old remained sidelined from India’s T20 setup and was not included in the 15-member squad for the marquee tournament in Australia. However, he is part of the standby players list and in case of any injury, he could be included.

Sunil Narine has been a giant player in the T20 circuit. He is known to bamboozle batters with his variations and is a fearsome striker of a cricket ball. In IPL 2022, he was at his miserly best and took nine wickets in 14 games for <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/kkr-kolkata-knight-riders/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kolkata Knight Riders</a> at an insane economy of 5.57. Further, in limited outings with the bat, he smashed at a strike rate of 177.50.
Narine carried his form to other T20 competitions as well. In the recently culminated The Hundred, he took 11 wickets in six games for Oval Invincibles at an economy of 6.05. Moreover, he had a great outing in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League for the Trinbago Knight Riders.
The bowling all-rounder took 11 wickets in 10 games at a phenomenal economy of 4.80 and also scored 111 runs at a strike rate of 120.65. Unfortunately, a T20 legend like Narine would not feature in the upcoming marquee event. On Narine's unavailability in the West Indies squad, CWI chief selector Desmond Haynes said “I did not get any notice from Narine regarding his availability to play. There were conversations that the captain (Nicholas Pooran) was having with Narine, and from all reports, it seemed that he was not interested."
