Ravi Bishnoi is one of the exciting prospects in the Indian circuit. He broke into the Indian team on the back of impressive performances in the IPL in the seasons 2020 and 2021 which saw him take a total of 24 wickets in 23 matches. The 22-year-old was quite excellent in this year’s edition as well.
Bishnoi played 14 matches for Lucknow Super Giants and picked 13 wickets at an economy of 8.44. He bowled overs at all phases of the game and was used as an attacking option with the ball. The Jodhpur-born was in the reckoning for the Indian squad for the upcoming global event and was handed a fair amount of opportunities to make a case for himself.
The leg-break googly bowler played six T20Is post the IPL and did an amazing job by taking 12 wickets for the Men in Blue. He was contesting for a backup-spinner spot with Ravichandran Ashwin who gave India an all-round option. The Indian selectors were inclined towards the veteran off-spinner who adds depth to the batting lineup and hence, Bishnoi failed to make the cut.
