2. Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has been India’s main strike force along with Jasprit Bumrah in Tests and 50-overs cricket. He was also a regular feature in the T20Is for the Men in Blue till the T20 World Cup 2021 but has not played for India in the shortest format ever since.

The veteran pacer was signed by Gujarat Titans at the IPL Auction 2022 and Shami put on a sensational show with the ball. The ace pacer took 20 wickets in 16 games at an economy of 8.00 and played an instrumental role in Gujarat's successful IPL campaign.

Shami dented the opposition up front and gave Gujarat an ideal start with the ball. He was also the highest wicket-taker in the powerplay in the 2022 season with 11 wickets to his name. Despite the solid performance, the 32-year-old remained sidelined from India’s T20 setup and was not included in the 15-member squad for the marquee tournament in Australia. However, he is part of the standby players list and in case of any injury, he could be included.
