2. Chennai Super Kings

Popular IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finished at the bottom of the points table for the first time in the league's history. In 14 games, they registered four wins and lost 10 matches. The Men in Yellow found some talented young cricketers as injury replacements, like Ayush Mhatre, Urvil Patel, and Dewald Brevis. These cricketers should be on CSK's radar for next season. However, the likes of Shivam Dube, Deepak Hooda, and Vijay Shankar failed to impress and might be released.
On the bowling front, Khaleel Ahmed started the tournament well but fizzled out towards the latter half. Noor Ahmad bowled remarkably throughout. However, Matheesha Pathirana failed to impress, conceding runs at an economy rate of 10.14. Ravichandran Ashwin also failed to make a mark and could be released ahead of next season. Rahul Tripathi and Rachin Ravindra could also be shown the door.
