In the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), umpires have once again found themselves in the scrutiny due to several controversial moments.

Some of the notable incidents in the IPL 2025 include Ishan Kishan’s controversial dismissal while playing against the Mumbai Indians (MI), and Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill expressing his frustration toward the umpires during the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In addition to match fees, every umpire receives a seasonal retainer. All umpires are provided with allowances from covering travel, accommodation, and other logistical things. These benefits ensure that they are well-supported and can focus entirely on their duties without additional stress.
