The preparations for the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) are in full swing. The WPL teams were finalised on January 25, and the five teams were sold to Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd, Indiawin Sports Pvt. Ltd (MI), Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd (RCB), JSW GMR Cricket Pvt. Ltd (DC) and Capri Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd respectively.

The much-awaited T20 extravaganza is reported to be played from March 4 to 24 and the player auction is likely to be conducted on February 11 or 13 as the franchises might leave no stone unturned to acquire the T20 stars from around the world. Let us look at the players who are expected to garner the most interest at the auction table.

Here are the ten players who might bag big bucks at the WPL auction

10. Richa Ghosh

Richa Ghosh has taken the international circuit by storm with her spectacular performances. She has destroyed bowling attacks with her power-hitting might and stamped her authority on the cricket field. She has featured in 30 T20Is and smashed 427 runs at a strike rate of 134.27.

Richa was quite phenomenal in the five-match T20I series against Australia. She took the potent Australian bowling attack to the cleaners and helped changed the momentum of the game in the favour of her side. She smashed 140 runs in five games at a strike rate of 134.61.

Richa has been the game-changer for the Women in Blue. Further, she has a safe pair of hands behind the stumps. Therefore, many franchises might look to add the wicketkeeper-batter to their arsenal at the player auction.
