"The last few games I was trying to bowl a knuckle ball. Even in the last game I got Virat out and today KL. I don't think much. I take it as it comes everyday. If my body is alright, I should thank Patrick [Farhart]. I had some injuries. After the defeats, we were positive and there was belief as well. If you win close games, it gives you confidence to take the momentum forward," Sharma said.
Winning skipper Rishabh Pant said:
"Definitely Pooran was giving us a hard time. We had certain plans. The total was good enough. We kept on bowling good balls. I would say the start of the season was with a lot of hopes. Some injuries. We are still in contention even after the last game. We had a better chance of qualifying if I would have had a chance to play in the last game. Personally, it was fantastic to come back. Was heartening to see the support from entire India. Was a long time to wait after one-and-a-half years. I want to be on the field all the time. Don't want to miss any action," Pant said.
Losing skipper KL Rahul said:
"I feel the wicket remained the same throughout the 40 overs. When we got JFM out in the first over we should have capitalized, but they - Hope and Porel - showed a lot of intent. We did well at the back end and 200 was a par total, we should have chased it down. This has been a problem right through the season - we keep losing a lot of wickets in the powerplay, we never get a solid start to get the likes of Stoinis and Pooran in, that is the big reason why we are in this position," Rahul said.

A blockbuster clash is expected at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 14 as Delhi Capitals (DC) are slated to host Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Both teams need a win to keep their hopes alive for the playoffs of IPL 2024, as they cannot afford to drop any point.
When it comes to Delhi, they lost their last match at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru but the good news for them is that skipper Rishabh Pant will make his return in the playing XI. He was suspended for a match for maintaining a slow overrate on three different occasions in IPL 2024 and his comeback into the set-up is likely to boost their confidence. However, there are plenty of concerns as well. David Warner has not been able to deliver while the middle order has been extremely inconsistent.
The same can be said about the bowlers. The likes of Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed have done well but only in patches. Kuldeep Yadav has been their star with the ball but he too leaked a lot of runs against RCB.
Lucknow, on the other hand, will play their first game since the infamous drama between owner Sanjeev Goenka and KL Rahul. There were rumours of Rahul stepping down from captaincy but that seems highly unlikely. To guarantee their qualification for the playoffs, Lucknow will have to win both their matches but if they manage to win, the franchise will have to keep an eye on the match between Bengaluru and Chennai.
When it comes to their form, they were extremely poor in the match against Kolkata. There is a lot of room for improvement on both the bowling and batting fronts, and unless they resolve those, it would be tough for them to crack the playoffs code.
