Shubman Gill has complimented Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for "walking the talk" with their performance on Saturday, October 25. Rohit and Kohli were involved in an unbeaten 168-run stand for the second wicket in the third ODI, which India won by nine wickets.

The 26-year-old top-order batter credited the manner in which the ball flew off their bats during the run-chase, and also on how big a relief it is for a skipper to have Rohit and Kohli batting flawlessly in the middle.

"There was no doubt regarding the two that they won't be able to perform. Definitely, it feels good when you're sitting outside as the captain and see two senior players getting the team through. It's always been a treat to watch them when they're batting like that. Seeing the ball flying off their bat and hearing the sound of the ball off their bat is something which tells you how good of a nick they are in. After both the past matches, we and they had had a discussion on capitalising on starts. They are walking the talk, so it's a great bonus for us," stated Gill during the post-match press conference.

India lost Gill for 24 off 26 on the second ball of the 11th over. From that point, Rohit and Kohli forged an instrumental stand together. By the end of the match, Rohit and Kohli ended unbeaten on 121 and 74, respectively. Rohit was awarded the Player of the Match accolade for his 125-ball 121 in addition to two catches in the first innings.
