Bangladesh have announced their 16-member squad for the T20I series against Pakistan and UAE. There is a major change in leadership, as Litton Das has been named the new skipper and Mehidy Hasan Miraz is named his deputy in the shortest format. Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to be Bangladesh's skipper in the longer formats.
The squad features promising players in both batting and bowling departments. In the batting department, Bangladesh's squad features Tanzid Tamim, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, and others. But the biggest strength of their squad is the bowling lineup, especially a potent spin attack.
Bangladesh's bowling attack features the likes of Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, and others. The series against UAE and Pakistan will act as a good platform for Bangladesh to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2026.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board made a major announcement, confirming Das as their T20I skipper till the T20 World Cup 2026. The star player has the experience of leading Bangladesh in T20Is in four instances in the past. Bangladesh has a good record under Das in T20Is, as they beat the West Indies in their backyard 3-0 in 2024.
The star player was not a part of Bangladesh's squad for the Champions Trophy earlier this year due to his poor form. His return to the national side will occur as a skipper in T20Is. Das' assignment will begin in the two-match series against UAE. Bangladesh will later face Pakistan in a series of five matches in Pakistan.
