India and Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma revealed the one player he finds most irritating on the field. Rohit-led Mumbai chased down 215 runs against Punjab Kings, courtesy of terrific knocks by Ishan Kishan (75 off 41) and Suryakumar Yadav (66 off 31) on Thursday, May 3.

In a candid interview on Star Sports, the MI skipper answered a wide array of questions, and his responses were highly intriguing. When asked to choose one player that irritated him the most on the field, the flamboyant right-hander named wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik.

"Dinesh Karthik irritates me a lot. He can be really irritating on the field," Rohit told Star Sports.

In the same segment, former India pacer S Sreesanth, was taken aback by the response and stated that Dinesh is a really ‘sweet person’ off the field.

"Running between the wickets is not something he (Rohit Sharma) would enjoy with DK (Dinesh Karthik) but off the field, DK is such a sweet person and he is always there for you and all that, so it was pretty surprising," Sreesanth said.

The 37-year-old keeper-batter has failed to hit the ground running and produce impactful knocks down the order for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) thus far. In nine matches, Dinesh has got 99 runs under his belt and will need to up the ante for his side in the forthcoming fixtures.

Mumbai chase 200-plus total in consecutive games

Speaking about the win against Punjab, skipper Rohit was dismissed for a third-ball duck during the chase of 215 runs which further extended the home team’s domination in the contest. However, Suryakumar and Ishan’s 116-run stand tilted the momentum and helped snatched the win from the Kings in Mohali.

Suryakumar’s innings featured eight fours and two sixes at a stunning strike rate of 212.90 whereas Ishan got four maximums and seven boundaries in his majestic knock. With the win, Mumbai recorded their second consecutive 200-plus chase as they emerged victorious against Rajasthan while chasing 213 runs in the previous game. Rohit Sharma and Co. are placed sixth on the IPL Points Table with 10 points, courtesy of five wins in nine matches.
