One of the best talents to emerge from the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who became the youngest cricketer to play in the history of the tournament. At the age of just 14, he smashed a belligerent century against Gujarat Titans (GT) while playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in just his third match.

Suryavanshi has also performed well for India U-19 after the IPL. By churning out such consistent performances, the southpaw is making a strong case for a maiden call-up to the senior national team in the days to come.

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu praised Suryavanshi's bat speed and hoped that nobody advises him to tweak it. The cricketer-turned-expert suggested that the Bihar batter can hone his craft if he has a chat with the legendary former West Indies captain Brian Lara, who also had a similarly high bat lift.

"His bat speed is extraordinary. Jo uska whip aata hai... I hope nobody changes that. He should get better. Someone like Lara... maybe go and talk to him. He also had a similar type of bat lift. So he can learn about how to control the bat speed when you are defending and when you are playing with a soft hand. So if he learns that, then he will be an extraordinary talent," said Rayudu on Shubhankar Mishra's podcast.

"He only has to focus on one thing, and that is he should not listen to many people. Don't listen to people; just back your talent. And for coaches also, it is important that usko zyada gyaan mat do. Leave him," he added.

He is lucky that Rahul (Dravid) bhai is with him: Rayudu

Rayudu opined that Suryavanshi is lucky to be around Rahul Dravid, who is the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals.

"He's extraordinary talent. Agar sambhal ke usko sahi guide karenge... He is lucky that Rahul (Dravid) bhai is with him. Rahul Bhai will take care of him," said Rayudu.
