Australia thrashed Namibia at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua to qualify for the Super 8 of the ongoing T20 World Cup. Bowling first, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins were quick to send Namibia’s top order back to the pavilion while Adam Zampa dominated the middle overs, picking up four wickets as the Gerhard Erasmus-led side got bundled for 72 runs.
After sealing a nine-wicket victory, skipper Mitchell Marsh was full of praises for Zampa. The star spinner now has eight wickets to his name in three matches and will be crucial for the Kangaroos in the Super 8, where the difficulty level will increase. Ahead of that, Marsh called Zampa Australia’s most important player and added that he loves to bowl under pressure.
“If you look at his career over the last 4-5 years, he is probably our most important player. He loves the pressure and he is bowling well at the moment and we are lucky to have him,” Marsh said in the post-match presentation.

He added that it was a professional performance and that he was happy with the Super 8 berth.
“I thought it was a great performance from our bowling team. It was a beautiful wicket, a bit of swing out there. A professional performance. It was great to qualify for the Super Eight,” Marsh mentioned.

Australia will play Scotland in their final match in the league stage. The winner of the match will qualify as the league leader, while if Scotland suffers a defeat, they will have to keep their NRR in check as England too are in the race to make it to the Super 8. However, the road is extremely difficult for the Three Lions.
