I feel MI and RCB will finish as the top two: Aakash Chopra

As the league phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is coming to an end, the positions of the qualified teams is still undecided, which is increasing the intrigue of the tournament. The match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 26 will be a decider for one of the spots of Qualifier 1. The loser of the match will play the Eliminator. 

Speaking about the qualification scenario, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra shared his prediction for the playoffs. As per the former player, MI and RCB will play Qualifier 1, while GT and PBKS will play the Eliminator. 

Meanwhile, RCB have their last league match against LSG on May 27, and if they win the game, they will play in Qualifier 1. For Aakash Chopra's predictions to come true, MI and RCB will have to win their upcoming matches. 

"Mumbai want to win this match, and if they win, they will finish in the top two. It didn't seem like this could happen. This never looked possible at all, but all the other teams have dropped so many matches that it seems like it could happen now. If they drop this match, they too won't qualify (for Qualifier 1). It's not that they have been given it on a platter," said Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel. 

"I feel the scales are tilted towards Mumbai because the team is looking better. They are moving like a juggernaut. It seems slightly difficult to stop them. I feel Mumbai and RCB will finish as the top two, and the final will also be Mumbai-RCB," added Chopra.
