The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled a roster of highly-rated Indian umpires, with ICC elite panel umpire Nitin Menon and Anil Chaudhary making the cut. These umpires receive a daily compensation of 40,000 rupees. The comprehensive list comprises 37 cricketers, including individuals such as Tanmay Shrivastava and Ajitesh Argal.
In the A+ category of umpires' rankings, there are ten umpires, including Nitin Menon from Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, Anil Chaudhary from DDCA, J R Madanagopal from Kerala CA, and Navdeep Singh Sidhu from Punjab CA, among others.
Moving to the A category of umpires, there are a total of 20 umpires hailing from different states of India. Notable names in this category include Anil Dandekar from Mumbai CA, P Jayapal from Karnataka State CA, Nikhil A Patwardhan from Madhya Pradesh CA, and Nitin W Pandit from Vidarbha CA.
The B group consists of 60 umpires in the ratings, and it includes umpires like Ravishankar from Jharkhand SCA, Kamlesh Sharma from Rajasthan CA, Krishnendu Pal from Bengal CA, and Piyush Khakhar from Saurashtra CA.
In the C group, there are 78 listed umpires. Some notable names in this category are Simratjeet Bawa from Punjab CA, Nishaanth S from Tamil Nadu CA, and MS. Ankita Guja from Vidarbha CA.
Finally, in the D group, there are 17 umpires listed from various regions across the country. Prominent names in this group include Bharat Naik from Goa CA, MS Viswanath from Kerala CA, and Vishwanath Sadanand from Karnataka SCA.
Umpires listed by ICC for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India
All the umpires selected for the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires will be overseeing the matches in the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in India. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the appointment of 20 match officials for the initial league stage of the Cricket World Cup. The names of the officials who will officiate the semi-finals and final will be disclosed as the tournament progresses. Among these 20 officials, there are 16 umpires and four match referees, with 12 of them being part of the prestigious Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires.
They are Christopher Gaffaney (New Zealand), Marais Erasmus (South Africa), Nitin Menon (India), Paul Reiffel (Australia), Richard Kettleborough (England), Richard Illingworth (England), Kumar Dharmasena (Sri Lanka), Michael Gough (England), Rodney Tucker (Australia), Joel Wilson (West Indies), Ahsan Raza (Pakistan), and Adrian Holdstock (South Africa).
