Bangladesh captain Litton Das lauded his team's efforts in the field after the Bangla Tigers secured a 2-1 T20I series win against Ireland. The hosts snapped up 12 catches across the recently-concluded three-match series, putting up a remarkable effort in the field on display.

Litton admitted how the Tigers have not had a good history when it comes to ground fielding and catching. However, he expressed happiness by what Bangladesh could achieve on the field and with the final scoreline as well.

"Normally, this team doesn't field exceptionally well. But in these three games, we took many brilliant catches. Fielding was definitely a positive. Before the series, we wanted to feel under pressure and convert that pressure into successful games. We couldn't do it in the first game. But by winning two games back-to-back, we managed to win the series," stated Litton, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

The captain further conceded that Bangladesh's core squad for the mega event next year is now more or less set. The wicketkeeper-batter also acknowledged that his only point of worry was an injury occurring to a player ahead of a tournament as significant as the T20 World Cup 2026.

"Hridoy struggled for big runs for a long time. But in this series, he got big runs. Every player is capable; they just need time. We have tried many things. We filled gaps. Match situations for those who don't play regularly, that's very important. I think the core 15 or 16 players are almost ready for the T20 World Cup. My only concern is injury, and a player getting injured before a major tournament is a very bad sign. I pray that doesn't happen," he added.

Bangladesh, who were coming off a 2-0 win against the Irish in the Tests, suffered a 39-run defeat in the T20I series opener. However, they came back excellently well to script a comeback and win the series at the end. Mahedi Hasan emerged as the Player of the Series for his bowling performance.
