SL vs BAN 2025: Litton Das hopes being back among runs during T20Is

Litton Das hoped to overcome his barren run of form with the bat in the upcoming three-match T20I series to be played between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The T20I skipper was benched after a four-ball duck in the first ODI of the recently-concluded 50-over series, where the hosts won by a 2-1 margin.

Litton emphasised that he has always had an intention of improving himself and bettering his technical capabilities in the past. He intended on getting the better of his slump in form soon with the upcoming encounter in the shortest format of the game. Notably, the first T20I is set to be played on Thursday, July 10 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

“For me, every series and every match is important. Wherever I play, I try my best. That's all I can do. But sometimes, failures come, and the success rate hasn't been good. This is part of life. There are players who succeed in one year and struggle in the next. Understanding why that happens is important, and I hope to find out and overcome it,” stated Litton, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

The Dinajpur-born hoped on making a comeback to the ODI setup sometime in the future and commented that he had been busy preparing for the T20I series after he was dropped from the XI in the ODI series. He hopes to be back among runs, where he also leads the Bangla Tigers.

“I didn't play good ODI cricket, and that's why I was on the bench. During that time [third ODI], I practiced for T20Is, and I will try to use that preparation in the T20I series. As a professional, I have to adjust, and I believe I do that well. They gave me opportunities in the ODI format, but I couldn't capitalize on it. Hopefully, I will play domestic cricket, score runs, and maybe they will call me again. I have been playing T20Is, and I hope I can make a comeback,” he added.
