The final day of the first Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh saw an unusual event grab eyeballs. A person sitting at Galle Fort was snapped by the host broadcaster's cameraperson with a monkey and two cobras within his control.
The apparent snake charmer wasn't just involved in taming his pets, but was also keenly watching over the proceedings going down in the middle. That person is since going abuzz on social media, drawing out a lot of memes and hilarious reactions from the cyber community.
Coming to the match, it ended in a stalemate after five gruelling days of play. The series opener also marked Angelo Mathews' final red-ball game in the international arena. This match will also be remembered for how Najmul Hossain Shanto almost led his side to a historic triumph.

Shanto scripts history but series opener ends in draw
Shanto was awarded the Player of the Match award for registering scores of 148 and 125* in his side's first and second innings, respectively. He also became the first Bangladeshi skipper to record hundreds in each innings of a Test match.
This series is the first assignment of both sides as far as the 2025-27 cycle of the World Test Championship is concerned. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh both had an underwhelming previous edition. They finished sixth (five wins in 13 games) and seventh (four wins in 12 games), respectively. Both the Asian rivals would want to kickstart proceedings on a positive note this time around.
The second Test will commence on Wednesday, June 25, at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. The match is scheduled to get underway at 10 am (IST). With respect to momentum, Bangladesh would surely have more than their opposition.
